What Taxlines is

Taxlines explains property tax bills and points out exemptions, credits and corrections that may apply to you, with the official rules they come from. It is not a government agency, a law firm or a tax adviser, and it isn't connected to or approved by any county, city or state. It gives general information, not legal or tax advice.

No promises

Amounts we show are estimates from your bill and published rules. The assessor, tax collector or agency decides whether you qualify and how much comes off. We don't guarantee any reduction, refund or result. Rules and deadlines change: check the deadline with your county before you rely on it.

You file it yourself

County and state forms are free. You fill them in, sign them and send them yourself. We never file for you or act as your agent, and we never charge for help asking for a lower assessed value: that guidance is free, and the informal review at your assessor is usually free too. You can always file any appeal yourself, and in many states a formal appeal can raise your value as well as lower it.

Keep paying your bill

Applying for an exemption or a review doesn't stop a late penalty. Pay on time; if something comes off later, it's refunded or credited.

The packet

The packet is a one-time payment for one bill. It's offered only when something may come off. If something goes wrong on our side (we can't read your bill, the packet doesn't open), email hello@cooli.ai within 30 days and we'll refund you.

Using the site

Upload only bills for property you own or are helping someone with, with their permission. Don't try to get around the free limits or break the site.
